French luxury menswear label Berluti has officially announced Haider Ackermann as its new creative director. Ackermann follows in the footsteps of previous creative director Alessandro Sartori, who left the post in February to join Ermenegildo Zegna as its new artistic director. The designer is set to present his first collection for the label during Paris Men’s Fashion Week in January 2017.

Ackermann’s appointment signifies a focus on Berluti’s recent foray into ready-to-wear pieces. His eponymous label, which debuted in Paris in June 2013, is known for its precise tailoring and casual spins on formalwear. On the partnership with Berluti, the designer said, “I am very honored to join Berluti. This house stands for the essence of luxury menswear and embracing this new adventure inspires me.”
