DJ extraordinaire Calvin Harris is starting to prove that his music in 2017 was sonically created to make us feel “fucking incredible” as he promised. “Slide,” his much-teased collaboration with Frank Ocean (and unexpectedly, Migos), does exactly that, and then some.

One may think Frank’s hard-hitting vocals and evocative songwriting would never mesh well with Calvin’s typically brash productions, but the unexpected duo find a common ground that may well result in the song of the summer. The track slides along effortlessly, with soft piano chords, dreamlike synth waves, and a pulsing bass line that get you jamming without jumping on tables. Migos’ verse is a welcome surprise, their collective flows gliding along smoother than their interviews.

This is Calvin’s first offering of many more singles to come later this year, while this is Frank’s first appearance on a track since the double whammy releases of Endless and Blonde, and hopefully a hint at his musical direction in the future. View the amazing credits, acknowledging Frank's independent status, courtesy of Calvin below.
