Kendrick Lamar's Upcoming Album Gets a New Release Date

April 7 was apparently a red herring.

It was only a few weeks ago that hip-hop artist and Grammy Award-winner Kendrick Lamar released his track "The Heart Part 4"—the fourth installment in his "The Heart" song series—after sharing an Instagram post of the roman numeral "IV," hinting that something new was on its way. Fans speculated he was alluding to a new album, and they weren't completely wrong. "The Heart Part 4" ends with Lamar warning listeners "Y'all got til April the 7th to get y'all shit together."

So "April the 7th" has arrived, and unfortunately, we are still without a new Kendrick album (hardcore Lamar listeners have been waiting for a LP since 2015's To Pimp a Butterfly). However, the artist wasn't untrue to his word; a new album, currently listed as ALBUM, is now available for pre-order on iTunes, and while it isn't the grand release that was expected with Lamar's forewarning of what was to come today, it will have to satisfy fans for now.

According to the iTunes pre-order page, ALBUM is expected to be released April 14, is 14 tracks long, and "HUMBLE." will be the 8th track and is the leading single for the project. Contributors to the album listed on iTunes include U2, BADBADNOTGOOD, DJ Dahi, The Alchemist, and 9th Wonder, all legends in their own right.

Check out the pre-order page below to see the little we know about Lamar's new album to be released April 14.
