The name of the second installment to Ridley Scott’s Alien prequel trilogy has been officially announced: Alien Covenant. According to a synopsis released by 20th Century Fox, the follow-up to 2012’s Prometheus will likely center on Michael Fassbender’s character David. It reads: “Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world -- whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.”

There’s no mention of Noomi Rapace’s character Elizabeth Shaw, who survived through the end of Prometheus, which will undoubtedly have fans asking what on earth (well, in space) happened to her. With an October 6, 2017 release date, we’ll have plenty of time to find out.
