2020 MTV EMA Recap: The Best Outfits, The Boldest Performances & The Nights Biggest Wins

Can you guess which best-dressed artist performed a rock rendition of their hit single?

Like most 2020 award shows —vastly different from years past— the MTV European Music Awards aired virtually on Nov 8th.

The girl band, Little Mix hosted the event, filming in various locations such as London and Budapest. While the other woman of the night killed the socially distant red carpet. Zara Larson shimmered in a Versace mini dress, Anitta’s black Dolce & Gabbana gown was a classic, and Bebe Rexha’s bright red colored hair brought out her Christopher Kane ensemble. The few men of the evening, Iann Dior, Sam Smith, and Maluma, getting casual, laidback honorable mention.

Many of the artists in attendance, doubled up as live performers. Maluma gave a neon-purple remix of “Djadja” and “Hawái.” Alicia Keys sparkled while singing, “Love Looks Better.” Madison Beer offered a dimmed light rendition of hit single, “Baby.” Two-time winner, Karol G gave a red hot performance of “BICHOTA.” Popping off the party, was Jack Harlows “What’s Poppin.” Even the hosts, Little Mix, performed their new single, “Sweet Melody” and were among the night’s winners. But, it is BTS’ four wins and ‘Best New’ winner, Doja Cat’s hard rock remix of “Say So” that stole the stage and took social media by storm.

Thankfully all the content was captured for MTV’s International Youtube page. VMAN invites you to relive some of the winning performances from the show, below. For a list of winners, pre-recorded, and live videos, click here.
