424’s Guillermo Andrade Teams Up With Dropbox For A Lockdown-Inspired Short Film

“For me, my friends, my colleagues, my team, it’s about finding the best way to move forward and get through this. And we will.”

In a project aimed at informing and inspiring people to keep pushing their limits even in times of great distress and hardship, 424 Creative Director Guillermo Andrade teamed up with his brother, director Diego Andrade, to create a unique film capturing how the designer was able to keep working through the initial and strictest part of the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. In the project that came in as a collaboration with Dropbox, Guillermo used the help of technology to complete the new 424 Spring/Summer 2021 collection on time — despite all of the difficulties he had to encounter along the way.

“I get to be in the room when my products are being made and for those three or four months, I wasn’t been able to do that,” Guillermo remembers. “My team had to develop new ways of communicating and moving forward. It’s been challenging but there are some great tools to be able to build from a distance.”

It’s a beautiful exploration of the designer’s creative process where he tackles everything from the need to break his routine and go outside his comfort zone from time to time to the process of experimenting with fabrics and cuts in his studio. And during this time, staying hopeful and inspired is arguably more important than ever: “For me, my friends, my colleagues, my team, it’s about finding the best way to move forward and get through this. And we will.”
