A-Cold-Wall* Puts Life Back In Motion For Spring/Summer 2022

The new collection features dynamic, utilitarian designs in bright colors.

A-Cold-Wall* has just unveiled its Spring/Summer 2022 collection with a dynamic short film, which premiered as part of Milan Fashion Week. The Will Dohrn-directed seven-minute video highlights the collection’s bright colors against neutral backgrounds, with the idea of motion being at the center of the narrative. Kelvin Krash was responsible for the thrilling, sometimes even haunting, soundtrack.

In this collection, creative director Samuel Ross combines utility and tailoring, with oversized pieces that look comfortable yet elegant. Functional sportswear fabrics are matched with softer materials; many of the designs come in striking, almost neon colors such as green, yellow, and red, while others feature neutral tones and somber shades of blue and grey.

Jackets and windbreakers appear next to puffer vests and cape-like raincoats; a highlight is the soft cloak that resembles a cozy, statement blanket – a similar motif is carried by the long “block” scarves. Cool comfort also comes in the form of a light blue draped vest and sweatpants.

The final look elevates the theme of elegant functionality with a black polyester jacket and a minimalist white shirt that features the brand’s logo at the front.

Bags come in a range of shapes and sizes, including boxy waterproof nylon totes and practical small neck bags that look the size of a phone. While many of us can’t wait to ditch face coverings forever, Ross takes the opportunity to present colorful balaclavas.

In footwear, the lineup features the NC1 slip-on in orange and cream, along with what appears to be running shoes. A new walking boot combines grey with white, orange, and yellow and features the brand’s initials on the sides.
