A Collection in Three Acts: Maison Kitsuné SS23 Collaboration with and wander

Maison Kitsuné invites shoppers on a trip around the galaxy with their three part Spring-Summer 2023 collection. The second installment in the series is a collaboration with Japanese activewear brand and wander.

Maison Kitsuné wants to take you on a journey to everywhere around the universe through their Spring-Summer 2023 campaign. This new collection mirrors the exploratory nature of the multi-hyphenate French-Japanese brand. Since its founding in 2002, Kitsuné has expanded to operate not only as a fashion brand, but as a record label, art gallery, as well as a chain of cafes. 

The brand’s collaboration with and wander, a Japanese activewear brand, is a testament to those who wander. The destination for this collection, the second in the campaign, is none other than Earth. Focused entirely on practical, utilitarian activewear, the two brands are equipping shoppers with the wardrobe they need to venture into the great beyond. Jackets, fanny packs, sweatshirts, Nalgene water bottles, pants, and shorts amalgamate to create a capsule wardrobe prepared to take on any conditions nature has to offer. 

The unspoken sense of liberation is personified throughout the collection through the simple yet imaginative forms and styles. Technical fabrics including reflective and water-repellent nylons, moisture-absorbent mesh, and Coolmax jerseys act as the foundation for exploration. The designs in this collaboration simultaneously embrace and resist the natural elements, allowing the wearer to freely wander throughout the expansive world, while not having to worry about their phone getting wet. The utilitarian DNA of this collection is not uncommon for an activewear collection, but Maison Kitsuné differentiates the garments by infusing high fashion notes. The earth-toned palette is offset by blacks, whites, and a logo featuring Maison Kitsuné’s unmistakable fox icon.

There’s no denying that modern living confines us, forces us away from nature, and discourages internal and external exploration. In a time where you can go anywhere you want through a screen, this collaboration encourages shoppers to make that freedom tangible, to make it real.
