A Painter’s Virtual Reality

Experience the Frida Kahlo Life of an Icon VR exhibit.

Frida The Life of an Icon exhibit is coming to Brooklyn next month and we are on the edge of our seats. The immersive experience celebrates the famous Mexican surrealist’s life and artwork through digitally innovative moving collages, pictures, and interactive experiences inspired by the artist. The virtual reality installation takes participants on an in-depth journey thanks to innovative VR technology that includes sound, seven changing spaces and 360-degree projection. The traveling exhibit is scheduled to show in six major U.S cities, Canada, Puerto Rico, and El Salvador.

Educational and family-friendly, Frida The Life of an Icon is the perfect way to spend a day taking in an influential piece of Mexican culture. Frida Kahlo’s artwork expressed her physical and emotional pain, relationship with lovers and innermost desires. Kahlo is best known for her self-portraits and tumultuous relationship with husband and fellow surrealist painter Diego Rivera. The experience takes about 90 minutes to get through but participants are encouraged to sit and absorb the atmosphere, enjoy Frida Kahlo-themed coloring pages and snap selfies.

Tickets are available online and range from $33.99 to $39.99. The exhibit will take up residence at 261 Water St Brooklyn.
