After much anticipation, A$AP Rocky has finally released his track, “Sundress” accompanied by a music video which has garnered over 2 million views in just a day. Following a brief leak of the song earlier this month, and then a pre-release live performance at Camp Flog Gnaw, the rapper has truly kept us on our toes with this one. The music video features Kesewa Aboah cast as his love interest, who is actually sister to model mogul and British Vogue cover star, Adwoa Aboah.

“Sundress” marks the first release by A$AP since his third and most recent album, Testing, which dropped at the end of May this year. The new single sources samples from Tame Impala's “Why Won’t You Make Up Your Mind?” from one of their earlier albums InnerSpeaker. Production on the track also features frequent collaborators Danger Mouse and Hector Delgado, along with Syk Sense whom the rapper had never worked with before this song.

Directed by Frank Lebon, the eccentric music video is a wild whirlwind of dizzying colors and partygoers at a club. The camera moves through freeze-framed scenes, capturing an emphasis for the shot. Fuzzy visual effects reflect the experimental, psychedelic atmosphere that the song exudes, while words describing the energy in the music video give a modest touch to the intimate yet volatile plot that unravels. Love and revenge intertwine in a perplexing series of events.

Several of A$AP Rocky's tracks to have been unintentionally leaked this past year are speculated to be officially released in his next album, including a song called “Pretty Guy,” rumored to be produced by Kevin Parker. Rocky is scheduled to appear at New York’s Beacon Theatre for Cyndi Lauper’s benefit concert on December 8, and plans to kick off his North American tour next year in January 2019 with Minneapolis as his first stop.
