adidas Skateboarding And Unity Celebrate LGBTQ+ Skate Community
The collaboration aims to spark creativity and change.
Since 1998, adidas Skateboarding has been creating footwear and apparel for skateboarders supporting a group of iconic, elite, and trendsetting professional and amateur skateboarders from all over the world. Most recently, the brand joined forces with Unity—gender-neutral apparel and footwear that celebrates the queer and trans community in skateboarding—to deliver a Fall/Winter 2020 collection that is grounded in individuality and inclusion.
The queer skate collective was formed in 2017 by Jeffrey Cheung and Gabriel Ramirez with the goal of creating a safe space in skateboarding for LGBTQ+ people. Honoring Unity crew’s message of “Don’t Be Afraid of Who You Are,” the collaboration aims to spark creativity and change.
With vibrant detailing and a diverse product offering, the collection features Cheung’s expressive illustrations on shorts, shirts, a hoodie, track jacket, and custom footwear that includes the Unity Continental Vulc and recently introduced Coronado. Made from premium materials, the collaboration celebrates acceptance and positivity.
The adidas Skateboarding x Unity collection releases this Friday, August 28 via adidas.com/skateboarding and select skate retailers.
