Adidas Want You To Step On LEGOs

Adidas and LEGO create a new retro sneaker for this fall.

2020 seems to be the year of unexpected collaborations. Travis Scott released a merch line with McDonalds, Nike partnered with Ben & Jerry’s, now LEGO is making shoes with Adidas. LEGO, the item known as the worst possible thing to step on, has created a shoe designed to, ironically, keep your feet comfy.

The shoe is a part of Adidas’ A-ZX series, and will reimagine the ZX8000 silhouette as a child’s building block fantasy. The shoe is an “ode to the classic LEGO brick.” The motif appears nearly everywhere, from the heel to the sole to the shoelaces. There are co-branded yellow sock liners, there’s multicolored mesh, and there are six different colored lace options, as well as interchangeable LEGO brick lace jewels. The tongue, often the hallmark of the shoe collab, features the iconic LEGO logo. Though the shoe is a archival style, and decked out in vintage LEGO iconography, it still looks and feels like a modern shoe. It’s a shoe-in (wink wink) to be seen all over the street style side of Instagram.

The collab launches globally on Sep. 25 through Adidas’ website.
