Alpha Industries Teams Up With A Bathing Ape

Military and streetwear are at the center of Alpha and BAPE’s capsule collection.

Alpha Industries plans to launch a capsule collection with A Bathing Ape later this month inspired by military and streetwear.

Available October 17, Alpha and BAPE’s collaboration blends common streetwear items, such as a bomber jacket and hoodie, with desert camo and other military aesthetics. The reappearance of camo is an ode to a previous 2012 collection, but is now refreshed with the fusion of Alpha and Ape logoing.

Just in time for the fall and winter seasons, jackets are at the center of Alpha and BAPE’s capsule collection. ECWCS technology (Extended Cold Weather Clothing System) is incorporated into various jacket-items such as a layered windbreaker and down jacket.

Standing out in the line of jackets is the MA-1 bomber. The smooth nylon fabric and polyester jacket comes reversible, featuring desert camo on the outside and green army print on the inside. A layered windbreaker features a hood and desert camo with BAPE and Alpha logos seamed at the bottom of the item. The collection’s army green down jacket is a puffier version of the windbreaker and features multiple pockets on the exterior of the jacket.

Alpha Industries also announced a collaboration with I.T, expanding its potential to reach customers in China. As I.T will now be the sole partner of Alpha in China regions, CEO of Alpha Industries Mike Cirker is excited about the collaboration.

“We see strong opportunities for Alpha Industries in China, having seen great demand from Chinese consumers both locally and internationally for years,” Cirker said. “We are excited to launch our relationship with I.T as they are the right partner to reach our fans to drive long-term brand affinity and growth for our future.”
