Last night, Kygo and Apple Music took over the Metrograph to premiere a new documentary about the chart-topping producer's quick rise to international stardom. Stole The Show, named after Kygo’s most well-known track with Parson James, explores just how a Norwegian artist on Soundcloud making bootleg remixes turned into one of the world’s biggest EDM DJs—selling out the Barclays Center in just two years. Without spoiling too much, it has a lot to do with his high-energy, “American” manager. The documentary interviews Kygo’s parents, contemporaries like Steve Aoki and Martin Garrix, and label heads Lyor Cohen (of 300) and Patrick Moxey (of Ultra).

In attendance at last night’s premiere was Kygo and Parson James, of course, models Neels Visser and Gabriel-Kane Day Lewis, Adrian Grenier, Rose McGowan, Niki Taylor, Oyinda, Sofi Tukker, Verite, and more. Fittingly, Kygo’s dad was also in attendance, as he makes more than a few cameos in the film.
