ARTECHOUSE x Pantone Unveil The New Pantone Color Of The Year
Ultimate Gray and Illuminating Yellow are just what 2021 feels like.
After the very traumatic and stressful year, we’ve all been through, it makes sense that Pantone chose two very comforting colors that represent endurance, resilience, and hope. In a collaboration with the nation’s first digital art exhibition space, ARTECHOUSE, Pantone unveiled its new Colors of The Year in a beautiful digital video, which you can watch below.
Each year, Pantone’s color experts look outwardly towards the world for new color influences from all sorts of different sectors, from film and production to fashion and beauty to technology and media. The global pandemic may very well have been an influence, but perhaps more than that, it was the resilience of humanity and the yearning for energy and clarity that led to the selection of PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray and PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating as the Color of the Year for the year 2021. Illuminating is a bright sunny yellow, radiating warmth and hope, while Ultimate Gray is a comforting and calm solid gray color, that speaks of stability and certainty, something we all greatly missed during this strange year. The beautiful unveiling video was created in collaboration with ARTECHOUSE’s New York space, located in Chelsea, but this isn’t the only collaboration planned between Pantone and ARTECHOUSE. In 2021, the digital art space plans on launching an augmented reality experience that will allow people to fully immerse themselves in the new colors.
