By converting departments of it’s production plant in Sant’Agata Bolognese to make surgical masks and protective plexiglass shields, Automobili Lamborghini is another company striving to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The masks will be donated to the Sant’Orsola-Malpighi Hospital in Bologna after being inspected the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences to ensure the supplies are up to code.

The department tasked with making masks typically produces Lamborghini’s interiors and speciality customizations and aims to get 1,000 masks out daily. For the medical shields, the Research and Development department of Lamborghini will use 3D printing from the carbon fiber production plant to create 200 units a day.

“During this emergency, we feel the need to make a concrete contribution,” said Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “The S. Orsola-Malpighi Hospital is an institution with which we have had a collaborative relationship for years, through both professional consultancy in promoting programs to protect our workers’ health, and in research projects. We will win this battle together by working in union, supporting those who are at the forefront of fighting this pandemic every day.”

Along with taking immediate action, the historic buildings of the Lamborghini headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese light up with the colors of the Italian flag every night as a sign of support and unity for the entire nation.
