Balenciaga is celebrating Pride Month 2022 with a new collection of tops, t-shirts, hoodies, socks, and caps.  

The Pride 22 collection and the corresponding “Anybody is Queer” campaign are designed to raise awareness and funds for LGBTQIA causes. 15 percent of the proceeds from the collection will go to Outright Action International, a groundbreaking advocacy group with a permanent presence at the United Nations Headquarters.  

To further promote visibility and acceptance, Balenciaga created a graphic design for the collection based on gendered symbols. Their version features two figures, holding hands, who simultaneously express both the feminine and masculine indicators of skirt and pants. Additionally, some products in the collection are designed with a chart of inclusivity flags from all around the world.  

The collection includes a wide range of products, from fitted tops to scarves, caps, jewelry, and graphic hoodies and t-shirts. Also featured in the collection are exclusive styles of the Balenciaga Pool Slide, the Track Sneaker, and several pairs of gym shorts with rainbow detailing.  

The “Anybody is Queer” campaign builds upon the brand’s history of support for the LGBTQIA community. In a series of photos and videos shot by Patrick Welde, Balenciaga highlights a diverse cast of characters wearing the Pride 22 collection. The message: one of diversity, inclusivity, and acceptance of all people.  

Balenciaga’s support of Outright Action International is just another step they are taking to show their commitment to community involvement and social issues. Outright Action International works to eradicate the persecution, inequality, and violence that many queer, transgender, and intersex people face. By working with the United Nations, the organization can fight for the human rights of LGBTQIA individuals around the world.
