Olivier Rousteing, a youthful prodigy within the international fashion stage, presented a Balmain FW18 Menswear collection that champions militant vibes, gender neutral silhouettes, and contemporary yet formal evening attire.

The first grouping of looks styled onto the angelic cast of models is a combination of sheer knits and intricately detailed blazers and jackets, as well as glossy pleather pants that are so perfectly fitted to the models, they almost looks painted on. Continuing with pleather, clearly the cohesive element of this collection, Rousteing styled four models in pantsuits made entirely out of the gaudy polished material, a neck-to-toe display that avoids any kink but still owns a sort of toothsome energy. Completing the collection is a series of garments perfect for a glamorous night out or a sexy party look that would easily turn heads, with sequins, chains, and glitter abounding.

Olivier Rousteing began his Balmain Army only a mere seven years ago when he was only 25 years old. This collection and his previous catalogue of work are all contemporary, in-real-time explorations of a creative process without boundaries, one that is coming to life through current experience and not from the past. A little party never killed nobody, and Rousteing is here to be the life of it. Go backstage at that party below.
