Bandcamp Fridays to Continue for the Remainder of 2020

The project gives all proceeds to artists and musicians during the pandemic.

Bandcamp has extended its “Bandcamp Friday” initiative for the rest of the year. The monthly program — which waives the music distributor’s revenue share on the first Friday of every month — was initially launched in March as a way to support musicians during the COVID-19 crisis.

Within the course of four months, Bandcamp has raised over $20 million from the project, all of which were directly given to artists and labels. In total, fans have purchased over $75 million on music and merch since the pandemic began.

“It’s a good reminder that Bandcamp Fridays are really an extension of what Bandcamp is about every day,” CEO Ethan Diamond said in a statement. “Thank you to all the artists and labels who shared their music with us, and the fans who spent their hard-earned coins to support the artists they love.”

The last five Bandcamp Fridays of 2020 will occur on August 7th, September 4th, October 2nd, November 6th and December 4th. For more information regarding time zones, visit Is it Bandcamp Friday? here.
