Carol Lim and Humerto Leon ensure that the distinct and eclectic vision of KENZO will never be forgotten. Closing down the gender-bending collections of Paris Fashion Week, the show’s incentive naturally comes with a feminist edge. Bringing together the designers signature use of sportswear with Japanese influence, the collection is directly inspired by female divers in Japan: ama. “The Last Mermaids of Japan” transforms technical diving gear into a groomed collection of marine-inspired garments, leaving a permanent impression of the brand’s prestige. Photographer Schohaja caught the looks backstage before the show.
