Best of Menswear at the 2023 Golden Globes

The stars of film and television brought their A-game

After a one-year hiatus, the Golden Globes are officially back on the air! A raucous event, the awards show is known for its chance celebrity encounters and fun-loving spirit. At what other awards show would Mike White give a drunken speech calling out other Hollywood producers? Along with its yearly antics, the ceremony is also known for its top-notch fashion. Here are the best men’s looks from the greats of film and television, stomping down that Golden Globes gray carpet.

Star of The Inspection and a Ryan Murphy protegé, Jeremy Pope is taking the film world by storm. Sporting a stark leather Dolce and Gabbana suit, Pope drew eyes for his bold fashion choices. Tapered at the waist and paired with thoroughly bejeweled shoes, Pope’s look tops the menswear ranking for the night.

Andrew Garfield

Heartthrob alert! We all collectively swooned over Andrew Garfield’s Golden Globe appearance, promoting his miniseries Under the Banner of Heaven. In a blazing orange Zegna suit, it was Garfield’s wide smile and bubbling spirit that completed the look.

Barry Keoghan

The Irish actor pulled eyes (and cameras) in a custom baby blue Louis Vuitton suit. Barry Keoghan, who was nominated for his work in The Banshees of Inesherin, played with silhouette like none other that night. With a double-breasted look and twisting necktie, Keoghan proved himself to be a daring fashion risk-taker.

Billy Porter

We love a legacy outfit! At the behest of honoree Ryan Murphy, menswear icon Billy Porter reprised his show-stopping Oscars tuxedo gown. This time, though, in a beautiful shade of fuchsia. Though the reason for the color change may have been minimal (the black tuxedo gown is in a museum), the new hue brings a revitalized spirit.

Tyler James Williams

For Abbott Elementary star Tyler James Williams, the devil is in the details. With a classic Amiri suit, Williams perfectly complemented his look with a stunning lapel pin and striking St. Laurent oxfords. Williams proves that the red carpet look need not scream out at you; it can be simple and elegant.

Ram Charan

Fashion is all about embracing your identity, and what makes you stand out. For the cast and crew of RRR, India’s addition to the global feature category, this meant wearing some of the country’s classic garments. Actor Ram Charan stood out among the rest for his suave looks, meshing national heritage with upscale fashion.

Austin Butler

Let the Elvis fever reign! The surging star, who recently appeared on the cover of VMAN49, was looking quite dapper as he coasted to an early Golden Globe win. In a double-breasted Gucci tuxedo, Butler brought a sense of grace to the night. And, as is always true for Butler, he arrived sporting some incredible rings.

Donald Glover

Award shows are long, long ceremonies. With little food and uncomfortable chairs, you want to be comfortable! Donald Glover effortlessly combined comfort and elegance, wearing a fitted St. Laurent tuxedo-robe combo. Paired with satin flair pants, Glover brought new meaning to luxe comfort.

David Burleson

When not running up to people on the streets of New York City, TikTok star David Burleson can be found strutting the Golden Globes gray carpet, shimmering for all to see. Styled by V‘s own Emma Oleck, the “What’s Poppin?” host stuns in his fitted Golden Goose suit.

The Babylon standout and industry newcomer stunned in a dark green Gucci suit, outfitted with a floral lapel pin and drooping bowtie. It’s suave, red-carpet menswear at it’s best. What a way to make your mark, and make people remember your name.
