Rami Malek is at the pinnacle of his career. In February, he snagged the Best Actor win at the Academy Awards - a career-defining accomplishment. It hasn’t taken him much longer to achieve another major milestone: landing the villain role in the 25th installment of the James Bond franchise. It’s a role that presents a challenge to any actor, but Malek has the chops to create the creepy allure we’ve come to expect from Bond’s enemies. Though unnamed for now, Malek’s character is described as an ominous villain with dangerous new technology. This is intimate territory for him considering his techy breakout role in USA’s “Mr. Robot”.

Bond 25, also unnamed at the moment, is going to be Daniel Craigs’ last movie playing the titular character. Lucky for him, Malek has said he will be giving his co-star a “run for his money." In addition to Craig’s familiar face, franchise favorites’ Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Jeffrey Wright, and Bond girls Lea Seydoux and Naomie Harris, will be returning for their respective roles. New additions include director Cary Fukunaga and Fleabag creator, Phoebe Waller-Bridge as a screenwriter.

Reaching 25 installments is a feat for any franchise. With the exit of Craig and the introduction of Malek, this Bond film is going to be one for the books. Bond 25 will be in theaters in April 2020.
