Brave New World of Fashion

Between stark futurism, sporty shapes, and refined tailoring, the many worlds of fashion come together to create a bold look for spring.

This story appears in VMAN 46 now available for pre-order.

While the world is at a standstill, fashion has no choice but to look to the future. The new crop of designs from this spring lend themselves to a cutting-edge editorial for VMAN, shot by Solve Sundsbo. Our fashion director Gro Curtis decked out Samer Rahma and Louis Baines of Kate Moss Agency in avant-garde picks from renowned designers — Virgil Abloh’s Louis Vuitton gives formalwear a playful twist, while Prada leans more minimalist. Curtis lauded Dior’s visionary pieces, dubbing it one of the season’s strongest. “Kim Jones created the perfect blend of military vibes and couture streetwear,” he says.

“It’s all about pushing a new proportion with men’s tailoring,” says Curtis on Matthew Williams’ collection for Givenchy. “No one can go there like Williams with his streetwear touch.”

Armani’s offerings transcend time, enrobing Samer in a sumptuous plaid set. “Nothing beats a well-cut suit,” says Curtis. “No one can touch the master of chic tailoring. Not just androgynous, they’re ageless.”
