Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak’s Silk Sonic Will Be Making Their Debut at the 2021 Grammys

A Twitter “campaign” got the attention of the Recording Academy and put them on the line-up

Well, it’s happening – Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak will be bringing Silk Sonic to the mainstage of the 2021 Grammy Awards.

Mars and .Paak spent days jokingly petitioning the Recording Academy to let the perform, originating the tag #LetSilkSonicThrive. The tag soon picked up momentum and started trending across Twitter in several parts of the world. The two then played up a feud and pretended to break up on Twitter as well.

The Recording Academy did take notice, however, and tweeted that they’d been trying to get in touch with the two, who eventually revealed that they would be performing at the ceremony this Sunday. The duo revealed that they created an album under the Silk Sonic moniker, releasing “Leave the Door Open” last Friday, still reigning at number one on the US iTunes charts.
