BTS Announces New Single Amid Rise to Billboard’s Top Charts

The single will debut in late August and be sung in English.

BTS is releasing a new single with the hopes of helping their fans cope with the uncertainties surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, Billboard reported.

The K-pop superstars digital single, arriving in late August, will be followed by an album to debut in the second half of the year. Their announcement was made on the Korean broadcasting app “V LIVE” earlier this week.

“Due to COVID-19, people around the world have been going through tough times and we wanted to share some positive energy with our fans,” BTS said. “When we first heard and recorded the song, we were energized and our spirits were lifted up. We can’t wait to share this song with you all and enjoy it together.”

BTS did not release the name of the upcoming single but said the song is sung in English. This comes as no surprise as multiple BTS songs have English lyrics such as “MIC Drop” and “Waste It on Me.”

News of BTS’ single comes as iHeartRadio announced their 2020 Music Fest lineup. The festival will air September 27 and will include performances by BTS, Migos, Miley Cyrus, Thomas Rhett, Usher, Kieth Urban, Coldplay, Kane Brown and Khalid.

Earlier this month, BTS released their latest studio album Map of the Soul: 7 ~ The Journey.” The album quickly rose to the top of Billboard’s World Album charts and landed them, for the tenth time, the number one spot.
