Creative officer Riccardo Tisci creates an ethereal design atmosphere with Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2022 Menswear Presentation. Taking place at Millennium Mills in Royal Victoria Docks, East London, the noteworthy set created a perfect stage for the designs coined “Universal Passport,” displayed by the models as they walked through the sand.

Bringing about feelings of edge and individuality, youthful designs and intense silhouettes make up the collection in neutral hues of black, green, tans, and easy blues and reds. Leather cords and jackets, gauzy see-through mesh, and rhinestone pieces make up the textures of the collection, allowing variety that comes together as a whole to make up the designs.

“I wanted the collection to capture that free spirit of youth and its honest and daring attitude, that sense of experimentation and fluidity,” said Tisci about the presentation, “There is a strong feeling of unity but also of individuality – encouraging and uplifting each other to express ourselves freely. It’s a very raw energy that’s infectious, exciting and full of life. Like an awakening.”

Sleeveless trenches and blazers, vests with overlaying loops, and abstract-like prints upon buttons ups and tops stand out in the collection, bringing about an essence of a new era of raw fashion, allowing for sensuality and youthfulness to shine through.

Hard-hitting details make a statement such as chunky face jewelry and piercings on the lips, between the eyebrows, or in each nostril on every model adhere to the daring essence it brings about. Futuristic hoods, collars and eyewear also nod to creative expression within the designs.

Focusing on not only the fashion aspects of the pieces, the show also honed in on the music down the runway, creating an atmosphere practically otherworldly with a soundtrack featuring artists like Shpongle and The Infinity Project.

Essentially, Tisci has created a collection sure to bring about a new feel to the legendary British fashion House, evoking excitement and thrill for seasons to come.
