Creative directors for Kenzo, Carol Lim and Humerto Leon, bid the brand a farewell in their final aquatic themed SS20 menswear show. Drawing inspiration from female divers in Japan, known as ama, all elements of the show transported viewers to the seaside.

Let’s take a dive into the Kenzo SS20 Menswear collection. Fishnets, neoprene, mermaid prints, and sea urchin detailing made appearances throughout the show. A consistent blend of scuba-inspired outerwear, neoprene suits, fishnet bags and tops, and sailor-inspired collars, were the most notable references to the oceanic theme. Sunset colors, such as pale greens, blues and purples were ascribed to selection of blazers, shirts, and trousers in light-weight fabrics. Drip detailing with pearls were subtle additions to the more formal pieces within the collection. The footwear ranged from colorblocked sandals to mesh flats, continuing the aquatic theme throughout every aspect of the collection.

The multitude of attendees who came to offer a farewell to the accredited designers also enjoyed a performance by Solange. The SS20 menswear collection by Carol Lim and Humerto Leon was a great success and a notable ending to their contribution to Kenzo.
