Celine Will Stage Its Next Menswear Show Online

While Celine might have been virtually absent from the digital fashion weeks, the label has now announced that it is planning an online show that will take place on July 29 at 4 p.m. CET on celine.com, Instagram and TikTok.

The French luxury brand is slated to unveil its latest project titled “The Dancing Kid”,  which has been teased on Instagram since Friday with black-and-white images of a flying banner. The label’s spokeswoman said it would be broadcasting a filmed runway show of the Spring 2021 collection.

Earlier this year, Celine decided to forgo showing its menswear collection separately and decided to stage a coed show in March instead. All of that was happening just as the coronavirus pandemic was taking hold in Europe.

Despite that, the luxury brand owned by the LVMH group has hinted at the possibility of creative director Hedi Slimane making a return to the men’s catwalk in June, noting that the decision to hold a separate men’s show would depend on the direction of each season’s collection. This is still a very new category for Celine, launched by Slimane with his first menswear show for the brand in January 2019.
