Comme des Garçons Homme Plus S/S 2022 Flourishes

The Japanese fashion label debuts a menswear line of bold botanicals.

Comme des Garçons Homme Plus Spring/Summer 2022 debuts in a floral frenzy down the runway, in a whirlwind of prints, patterns and color. Founder and creative director of the Japanese fashion label Rei Kawakubo designed a collection that speaks for itself with lavish floral and fauna motifs.

Military jackets and blazers in browns or taupe sit atop billowing floral skirts or shorts. Abstract silhouettes make up the elegant shapes of each look, adhering to the theme coined, “The Existence of Flowers.”

Different floral patterns dot the collection, allowing the theme to come into full bloom. Whether it was separated and sweet floral designs, or busy florals taking up the entire garment, each item in the collection has some kind of pattern paying homage to the blossoming theme.

Intricate headpieces covered in the various floral patterns serve as a talking point of each look, sitting upon the models head and jutting out in various shapes leaving keyhole openings for eyes while covering other parts of the face.

Collaborating with Nike, Comme des Garçons Homme put various models in their own special version of the Nike Air Sunder Max, serving as a staple shoe in all black, all white and black and white.

Floral from head-to-toe, models also featured all-floral oxfords that stood out as a pop of pattern paired with white trench coats lined with fur at the hem.

One-buttoned blazers gave off an elegant feel along each pattern, transporting you to an era out of this world while hard-edge leather jackets provide a cool and swanky feeling to contrast against the sweet botanicals.

Coveralls, shorts, suits and overcoats are just some of the pieces that make up the layout of the collection, proving shapes and forms of all types can show the dynamic Existence of Flowers.
