After 11 seasons on the air, “Conan” is coming to an end on TBS in June 2021.

The talk show has been Conan O’Brien’s late-night corner for 28 years, getting its start in 1993. Reports claim that the 57-year-old comedian, writer and host will be moving to a new weekly variety series on HBO Max, though the premiere date and further details are being kept under wraps.

“In 1993 Johnny Carson gave me the best advice of my career: ‘As soon as possible, get to a streaming platform,’” said O’Brien in a statement. “I’m thrilled that I get to continue doing whatever the hell it is I do on HBO Max, and I look forward to a free subscription.”

TBS will still air Conan Without Borders, O’Brien’s travel specials series chronicling him in countries including Mexico, Greenland, Haiti and Cuba.

O’Brien famously moved to TBS network in 2010 and began his hosting role at Conan that November, following a career tracing him through Late Night, where he replaced David Letterman in 1993 and stayed until 2009, when he replaced Jay Leno on The Tonight Show on NBC.
