Cordae is on a consistent up-and-up, having dropped his new EP last Friday (more on that in our weekly round-up). Now, the EP is continuing to get its full exploration with the release of a visual for one of the four tracks on it, “Dream in Color.”

The song itself is an R&B-hip-hop jam, drawn along by a tambourine beat and some real smooth harmonizing. Cordae himself flits comfortably between rap verses and sung choruses. The song tells the artist’s journey towards coming to appreciate all the things he has in his life, asking listeners if they’ve been good people and made good decisions as well. Among some references to Julius Caesar and Stevie Wonder, he even gives a shout-out to his girlfriend, tennis star Naomi Osaka.

The visual, directed by APlus, adopts the same chill and contemplative vibe of the song. It mostly features Cordae and his friends driving around town. A majority of it is set in a diner, where the group helps themselves to a meal and even takes pictures with some of his fans. It’s mostly interspersed with shots of the artist singing directly to the camera, directly addressing the viewer.

Cordae’s newest EP, Just Until…, was released last Friday. The release serves as the lead up to the former YBN singer-rapper’s sophomore studio album, the follow-up to 2019’s Grammy-nominated The Lost Boy
