Presented among the hustle and bustle of Paris Fashion Week, an inimitable display of juxtapositions unravels for Dawei's Spring/Summer 2023 collection. Magnificent and understated, classical and modern, retro and trendy, these seemingly contradictory contexts are revived with new vitality and energy after unexpected encounters and combinations. Through intricately constructed silhouettes and an element of minimalism, the house’s founder re-establishes his eternal pursuit of practicality.

With wide sleeves, flowing skirts, and hemlines that recline at the sides of the body, geometric lines spread from the waist, pleats drape from the fabric, and cocoon silhouettes wrap the body - these hidden clues in the collection are the key to 1920s Paris. The haute couture at that time continued the classical atmosphere, giving the body the greatest freedom rather than burden and restraint. Couture does not have to be strict and domineering. It can be minimal, effortless, and natural while accentuating femininity and blending into everyday life.

Poplin, denim, and silk are introduced alongside an eco-friendly fabric - a taffeta-like texture but made from recycled yarns, which were crushed and drawn from recycled Coke bottles. Appropriate thickness and smooth texture bring a strong sense of movement, balancing the sophistication of the couture silhouette, making it extra light and agile.

A sophisticated palette emerges of light yellow, green-gray, light green, sun orange, bright pink, and other colors appeared one after another, bright but not conspicuous. The addition of grayscale eliminates the excessive parts and leaves a long aftertaste. Among the intriguing colors, extensive prints are also interspersed between them. The almost abstract geometric patterns are actually a blurred reprocessing of the concrete photographs, making the fabric look like a canvas with the temperament of Edward Hopper's artworks. After a careful distinction, the outline of the building appeared, and the row of buildings shrouded in the dusk as the halo gradually dissipated, quietly waiting for the night to come.
