Dior Launches Capsule Collection With Lewis Hamilton

Fuelled by passion & identity, the newest Dior collaboration bridges Afrofuturist aesthetics with refined tailoring
As a seven-time Formula One World Champion, Lewis Hamilton’s passion for racing is not just second nature—it’s foundational to his identity. However, when stepping into his role as Dior’s Brand Ambassador and Guest Designer, Hamilton wanted to create something more personal, beyond his sporting life. In conversation with the Dior Maison ateliers, Lewis Hamilton designed a unique capsule that marries his vibrant passion for motorsport with his rich cultural heritage, translated through Dior’s French finesse.

“This collection speaks to the intersection of sportswear and fashion and how those two worlds coexist,” says Hamilton. “For me, fashion has always been about self-expression and embracing all the different parts of yourself. Being authentic to your style and communicating yourself through clothing is such a powerful feeling.”
The collection unites Afrofuturistic inspiration with the Maison’s heritage—a dialogue of personal, historical, and cultural patrimonies. Working with international ateliers, the leopard tweed was born as a recurring motif of the collection and a symbol of the capsule’s cultural harmony.
“During my recent travels across Africa, I heard so many incredible stories that inspired me to imagine the future of Black culture,” Hamilton reflects. “The way we tell stories through art, science, and philosophy is really special. Seeing these ideas brought to life through color and movement inspired me.”

The fiery attitude and suave style of racing are unmistakably reflected throughout. Extreme juxtaposed aesthetics—sartorial and casual, traditional and technical, theatrical and measured—reflect the extremes Hamilton faces on the track. Meanwhile, the collection’s silhouettes mirror both on-track and off-track looks, exploring various proportions that range from oversized and boxy to fitted and trim, all refined in tailoring and comfortable for wear.
