DMX to Have a Public Memorial at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn

The late rapper and actor will have a public memorial at the Barclay center followed by a private one

In a story by Deadline, it has been announced that late rapper and actor DMX will be remembered at a memorial service at Brooklyn’s Barclay Center on April 24 according to his manager.

DMX passed away due to a heart attack that followed a drug overdose on April 9. He remained in a comatose-like state for more than a week before passing.

Manager Steve Rifkind said that details on how many people can attend the ceremony and tickets are to be determined. The next day following the public event, DMX’s family and friends are to attend a private funeral service at a church in the New York City area.

Home to the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets and New York Liberty of the WNBA, capacity at the arena will be limited by pandemic restrictions.

DMX performed one of his last shows at the Barclays Center in June of 2019.
