Dolce & Gabbana is Forrays into the Metaverse with “gooDGame”
With their new platform “gooDGame,” the Italian fashion house is diving head first into the world of esports
As fashion continues its foray into the digital sphere, Dolce & Gabbana has launched “gooDGame,” a range of initiatives that celebrate the lightspeed-growth of esports. The project includes a partnership with Mkers, an Italian esports organization, in one of the world’s first Gaming House Twinning initiatives. “gooDGame” also includes a digital collection on SKNUPS as well as a physical capsule collection that was created for gamers.
D&G’s partnership with Mkers has the goal of shedding a new perspective on the world of gaming and the culture that surrounds it — as a part of their partnership, an 8-episode web series is being released. The web series, produced by Frame by Frame, goes behind the scenes of four esports teams across the globe from Brazil, Japan, Italy, and the United States. In the episodes, the teams will reveal all aspects of their experience as professional gamers – from their intense training process to their different approaches to the process of preparing for international esports competitions.
As far as fashion goes, D&G has you covered in the metaverse. In their partnership with SKNUPS, a platform that allows gamers to integrate digitally-branded skins into games, the italian fashion house will release a series of limited-edition collectables. The digital collections on SKNUPS will allow gamers into the world of D&G, dressing their characters in digital designs from the brand.
In addition to their digital collections, D&G is also releasing a capsule collection of real-life collectibles. The capsule collection will include hats, t-shirts, hoodies, and trousers that feature a digitized rendition of the D&G logo. The items are an ode to the metaverse with their glitch-like printed effects and gradient tie-dye.
