As Duncan Jones, Ziggy Stardust's own son, recently tweeted about his father, David Bowie wasn't just an industry-defining musician, writer, and actor; the London-bred pop pioneer remained an avid reader and learner until his death at age 69 in 2016. Recently, Jones announced that he would be leading a David Bowie book club to walk fans through his father's most beloved literary influences, the top 100 of which are already listed on the late superstar's blog.

To kick off what'll surely be a guided meandering through Bowie's psyche, Jones announced via Twitter that fans who'd like to participate should read Hawksmoor, Peter Ackroyd's acclaimed postmodernist murder-mystery, by February 1st, when the next book on Bowie's list will be released. And if you finish Hawksmoor early, check out the complete top-100 list of Ziggy Stardust's favorite reads here.
