Known for his gospel-inspired, soulful acoustic sound, singer and songwriter Curtis Harding represents a spirited intersection between the already-conflated music and fashion worlds. The Michigan native has built a rock-solid portfolio of musical features over the last decade, working with the likes of Outkast and Cee-Lo Green for years before releasing his first full-length project, Soul Power, in 2014.

It's Harding's real life "Soul Power," though, that caught Hedi Slimane's eye during his time as YSL creative director, and spurred him to shoot Harding for the Saint Laurent Music Project in 2014. The songwriter emits an air of old-school, understated swagger that Slimane found so enticing, he named a jacket after him, which quickly became an iconic piece in Saint Laurent's permanent collection.

The same passion and soul found in Harding's strut and the way he rocks high fashion kits with icon-level sprezzatura can be heard in every guitar lick, uptempo synth rhythm, and soulful, echoing run on Harding's all-new album, Face Your Fear, which released on Friday.
