Vintage sports cars are cool but you know what’s cooler? Vintage sports cars that used to belong to a rockstar. A 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona, which used to belong to the rocketman himself Elton John is up for auction.

But that’s not the only reason the car is impressive. Indeed, at the time of its release, it became the fastest car in the world. Boasting a 4.4L quad-cam V12 engine and 352 horsepower, the car was Ferrari’s attempt to surpass the Lamborghini Miura which, since its 1966, was the fastest car in the world before being dethroned by the Ferrari Daytona.

Sir Elton John had the car from 1973 to 1975, with some saying it was bought with the money he made with his hit 1973 single, "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road." Since then, it has been enjoyed by different owners, who belong to the Ferrari Owners’ Club.

The next lucky owner of this vintage gem will receive its original documentation along with it, which even includes every service receipt. The auction house, Silverstone Auctions, will also be supplying every MOT Certificate issued for the car. It currently holds a mileage of 82,000 miles. And while the beauty of this car speaks for itself, interested parties and car enthusiasts alike can head over to Silverstone Auctions’ site for more information.

Two years ago, the Daytona was auctioned off for  £551,250 GBP (roughly $675,598 USD), so many are wondering how much it’ll go for this time around. Silverstone Auctions is estimating that the car will go for between  £425,000 – £475,000 GBP (approximately $516,230 – $576,965 USD).
