‘Elvis’ Is The Movie Of The Summer

Austin Butler and Tom Hanks star in the upcoming film that follows the rock ‘n roll legend’s journey in fame

Immerse yourself in the eclectic world of the mid-1900s with the King of Rock and Roll himself. Elvis, a new film by Baz Luhrmann — who also brought us 1996’s Romeo + Juliet, 2001’s Moulin Rouge!, and 2013’s The Great Gatsby — follows the iconic performer, played by Austin Butler, as he navigates fame and fortune.

Joined by a cast of big Hollywood names including Tom Hanks as Colonel Tom Parker and Olivia DeJonge as Priscilla, Butler stars in the musical biopic, which follows the singer over a span of twenty years of stardom and struggle. Costumes designed by Miuccia Prada add to the old glamour and eccentricity of the rock ‘n roll era, with tales of love, loss, and controversy adding plenty of drama to the upcoming film.

Warner Bros. released the second trailer yesterday, just preceding the film’s premiere at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. The movie comes to theaters on June 24.
