For their Fall/Winter 2021 collection, titled “In the Mood for Pop,” Emporio Armani is bringing back ’80s fashion. Always in pursuit of comfortable elegance, the brand favors loose, flowing cuts and materials that emphasize ease of movement. Here, these styles are given an ’80s treatment that remains current and full of welcome surprises.

The menswear line features bold colors and patterns emerging from under grey suits. It’s an unexpected interruption of a classic look, breaking up the more subtle patterns of herringbone wool. Other elevating touches include rich black velvet, which adds a sense of smooth refinement and frames the wearer’s face. High waists and broad drop shoulders establish the unmistakably ’80s inspiration.
