Enter a Fractal Reality With ARTECHOUSE’s “Geometric Properties”

The immersive visual experience by Julius Horsthuis kicks off in NYC on March 1.

Immerse yourself in the geometric world of Julius Horsthuis at Artechouse, the first digital innovative art space in New York City.

Located in Chelsea Market, Geometric Properties is an exhibition by the award-winning Amsterdam-based artist which invites you to be fully ensconced in a mind-bending exploration, taking a journey through Horsthuis’ fractal world reflecting arithmetic and nature, past and future.

“Our collaboration with Julius Horsthuis has always focused on finding innovative approaches to exhibiting fractal artworks in a real-world setting,” said Sandro Kereselidze, Founder and CEO of Artechouse.

“We have pushed the boundaries further than ever with the most technologically-advanced fractal experience yet. Combining Horsthuis’ beautiful immersive worlds of endless patterns and our state-of-the-art systems, we were able to create a groundbreaking exploration of the depths of mathematics and digital nature.”

Horsthuis’ lens of nature and vision of the world is documented in a full-sensory cinematic experience, expressing the infinite dimensions and iterations of fractal geometry in the universe. A wonder at being and the eternalness of a reimagined reality, the experience at Artechouse allows viewers to escape the self and be one with the infinite, to visualize the grander scheme surrounding the individual experience.

Geometric Properties is Horsthuis’ first solo exhibition in New York City; previously, his fractal art and visual creations have been featured in Academy Award winner “Manchester by the Sea” (2016) and “Koning van Katoren” (2012).

“In a time where disease and division characterize our daily reality, I want to show a different existence,” said Horsthuis. “An eternal reality of healing and harmony. Not in some new-age kind of way, or with another utopic vision detached from humanity, but just by being in awe of endless iterations and multiple dimensions. This might be the perfect time for us to be in awe—to quiet our self-interest and make us realize we’re part of a larger whole.”

Geometric Properties is on view at Artechouse from March 1 until September 6. Reserve your tickets here.
