Evan Mock and JuneShine Team Up On SoHo Pop Up Event

The two transformed Iconic Magazines into “Mock’s Magazines” to celebrate new collaborative flavor “POG”

In the heart of SoHo, the perennial Iconic Magazines transformed into “Mock’s Magazines” Thursday night to celebrate better-for-you alcohol brand JuneShine’s collaboration with multi-hyphenate Evan Mock. Creating an immersive pop up complete with fully stocked fridges, DJ’s and a packed crowd of actors, DJ’s, skateboarders and more, the two partnered to create a Hawaii-reminiscent flavor featuring passionfruit, orange and guava. 

As the latest addition to JuneShine’s lineup of unique hard kombucha flavors, the “POG” flavor draws inspiration from where both the actor and JuneShine founder and CMO Forrest Jaqua grew up – Hawaii – making the collaboration an effortlessly authentic next step. “We both grew up in Hawaii where POG juice is what you drink every morning so we always knew it would be his flavor,” explains Jaqua. Mock shared, “I wanted to create a flavor that reminded me of Hawaii when I read it, hear it, and most importantly taste it. POG covers all the bases.” 

While a personal favorite of the two, the flavor was also extremely well received by consumers, quickly becoming the brand’s fastest-selling special release and leading to its solidification as a core flavor this year. Committed to making better-for-you, better-for-the-planet products, JuneShine has worked with an array of creatives in addition to Mock including Diplo, Cody Ko, and Whitney Cummings, all of whom crafted exclusive flavors with the brand. 

Founded in 2018, the brand first began selling canned hard kombucha and has since expanded into an array of alcohol products including ready-to-enjoy cocktails and a number of JuneShine tap rooms that are located in San Diego, Los Angeles, and most recently, Brooklyn. The bars draw on the company’s signature ethos, creating casual nightlife experiences that are not only better for you but better for the planet as well. 

When asked about collaborating with JuneShine, Mock gushed, sharing that, “Coming from Hawaii, family is the most important thing. So brands I partner with have to have that same vibe. Being a part of JuneShine feels like family.” Jaqua continues, explaining, “Our JuneShine ambassador team is made up of artists, athletes, and creatives. The actor and entrepreneur checks all three boxes and does so in an authentic way. He’s inspiring the next generation to be true to themselves and break out of the mold.
