Powerhouse soul singer Stanaj and Norwegian electronic duo Lemaitre are releasing their new single, “Playing to Lose,” premiering exclusively on VMAN. The new song, co-written with Evan Bogart (Beyoncé, Britney Spears), is the first collaboration between the two acts, and hopefully not the last.

The track perfectly intertwines Stanaj’s lush vocals with Ketil Jansen and Ulrik Denizou Lund’s softly pulsing electronics, complete with a smackdown of synths and guitar licks to up the intensity just a bit. The duo has played the track live during recent sets, even performing it with the vocalist at Coachella earlier this year.

“The first time I heard the track I knew I had to be on it,” Stanaj said about the track. “I co-wrote the topline with Evan Bogart, and Lemaitre absolutely killed the production. We had the opportunity to perform it together this year at Coachella, which is something I will never forget. It was the first time I ever performed original music in front of a crowd, so it was one of those surreal moments. And to share that with Ulrik & Ketil, who are two of the most humble and hardworking guys in the industry, was truly an honor.”

The duo returned the praise for the soulful artist: “Much love to our good friend Stanaj for being a part of this song.”
