In time for 2019, back-to-back buzzworthy collaborations by Japanese brand Sacai have hit stores. The two pattern-heavy sub-collections—collabs with Pendleton and Dr. Woo respectively—debuted at Paris Fashion Week Men's in June, reiterating creative director Chitose Abe’s many-layered commitment to print. (A collaboration with the New York Times last year featured the newspaper’s sober slogan, “Truth: It’s more important now than ever.”)

The SS19 capsules, which include men's and womenswear, reflect two distinct yet complementary visual codes—Pendleton’s colorful, American-Northwestern pastiches and Woo’s naturalistic, Insta-famous outline tattoos. Think tatted-up satin bombers and florid Pendleton trademarks applied to everything from heeled boots to long check skirts. When brought to life by a pack of Sacai models, as seen in these exclusive backstage images, these highly visual collections make all the more of an impression. (P.S., if the visual feast of Pendleton and Dr. Woo weren't enough, peep the Sacai x Nike shoe collaboration, launching later this year.)
