At Milan Fashion Week, Ferragamo introduced Legends, Reimagined, a series reinterpreting the house’s most emblematic designs through individuals who achieved mastery by challenging convention.

Known as the “Shoemaker of Dreams,” Ferragamo’s project opens with a focus on one of the brand’s most revered creations, the Tramezza shoe. Long considered the pinnacle of fine shoemaking, the Tramezza is constructed through an intricate process involving more than 160 individual steps, each executed by hand.

To bring this story to life, Ferragamo chose an equally unconventional legend: Alberto Tomba. One of Italy’s most celebrated ski champions, Tomba carved out his place in sporting history by doing things his own way. Hailing from Bologna rather than the Alpine heartlands traditionally associated with elite skiing, he defied expectations with a style driven by instinct, intensity, and individuality.
Alongside the presentation of the core Tramezza collection, the event spotlighted Ferragamo’s Made-to-Order programme. Guests were introduced to a curated selection of rare materials, including alligator, ostrich, and hand-finished calfskin. Clients were able to personalise every detail of their shoes, down to the initials discreetly set into the insole. Tomba’s own wooden last was also on display.
For the event, Ferragamo transformed Milan’s The Wilde into an exclusive “Tramezza Atelier.” Designed as an immersive environment, through carefully curated sensory elements, lighting, scent, sound, and tactile materials, the atelier invited guests to emotionally engage with the Tramezza universe.

Legends, Reimagined follows Alberto Tomba as he laces his Tramezza shoes, centers his balance, and traces movements honed on alpine slopes. Ferragamo draws a parallel between two forms of excellence driven by relentless pursuit of perfection.
