Find Your Power With BOSS

The FW23 collection comes with motorcycles in tow.

What’s more empowering than the power suit? For their FW22 collection, BOSS goes back to its roots, embracing its sports origins. With death-defying motorcyclists as a backdrop, the luxury brand premiered a new line of suits inspired by athleticism and bravery. In harsh grays and blacks, models are seen sporting helmets in hand. The line is firm, it’s strong, and it’s steadfast in its ways. Ultimately, it’s severe.

The showing itself was a star-studded event, from the models to the attendees. Walking in the Milan show were worldwide names like Naomi Campbell, Future, and Ashley Graham. Sitting front row was celebrities like J Balvin, Bella Thorne, and Ross Lynch. The show’s attendees also included a litany of social media influencers, like Bella Poarch and Chase Hudson

In continuing with their “see now, buy now” model, the BOSS FW22 collection became available immediately after showing at boss.com and stores nationwide. The show itself was live-streamed in 13 countries across Europe and allowed consumers to purchase straight from the show with the TikTok shop feature.

For the collection itself, BOSS tried to keep things simple, going for a line of almost entirely power suits. This doesn’t mean that there lacked variation, though, with several different structures and silhouettes. Many suits were layered, but others remained simple base-coats. Some were tailored to structure a harsh silhouette, while others maintained their oversized feel. Though the theming maintained itself, the alternatives were striking.

Similarly, the collection maintained a certain palette of neutral and dark tones. Separated into color-themed sections, the show featured a series of gray, white, beige, and finally black looks. Some of the most interesting creative visions arise when these colors are allowed to briefly mix, built on top of each other to create patterns and structures. That could be as grand as one of the collection’s multi-striped collar lines, or as simple as a shaded pocket or logo.

The BOSS FW22 collection certainly puts the pedal to the metal, striking hard and fast with its seismic looks. With that final shot of all the models in their power suits, motorcycle orbs behind them, one can’t help but sit in awe. There’s a certain level of spectacle that is unmatched this season, capturing the zeitgeist of what an in-person fashion show could be. This spectacle doesn’t diminish the runway quality, though – it’s powerful, elegant, and biting.
