In early July, singer and producer Labrinth put on a dazzling performance at Maison Valentino’s transcendent Fall 2022 Haute Couture show at Rome’s Piazza di Spagna. At the show, he premiered an exclusive rendition of his latest single, “Lift Off,”  remixed specifically for Valentino: The Beginning.

Now, Labrinth and Valentino are teaming up with Spotify to release “Valentino: The Beginning playlist,” curated by Labrinth himself. The playlist includes Labrinth’s track list from the show, a selection of inspirational songs, and unprecedented vocal notes from both Labrinth and Pierpaolo Piccioli, the Maison’s creative director.

“When I was working on this performance for Valentino, my thought process was I wanted to make a score version of some of the music I’ve created for my latest album. And… the music…some of the music that I’ve previously released that people are fond of… but do it like I am doing a score for a movie,” Labrinth explains in the note. “I don’t really know many people that do score music for a fashion show. So my approach was that what if I composed music for a fashion show, and as you see these clothes coming down the aisle, it just brings them to life like with all these songs and all these kinds of instruments and colors.”
