Two fashion favorites have graced us with a sneaker that values style just as much as performance. After previewing the capsule back in 2020, Nike has partnered with women’s wear brand Jacquemus for a new take on a classic Nike shoe.

On June 13th, Jacquemus shared a post asking his followers if they wanted to see his first sneaker with Nike. Of course, he received an overwhelmingly positive response with his followers patiently awaiting the icon’s creation.

A few hours later we are presented with “Le Papier” collection, a take on Nike’s Humara silhouette with a gum sole and suede and leather top. The shoe is available in dark brown and beige colorways with black contrasting, both complete with a tiny gold Nike swoosh on the side. Combining both the sleek simplicity of Jacquemus and the performance aspects of a Nike, this shoe interweaves the best qualities of both brands.

Simon Porte Jacquemus has always felt that style should not be compromised in sportswear. For this collaboration, he was inspired by the ACG pieces and Nike campaigns from the 90s, which is why he used neutral tones and minimalist details for a contemporary look.

Nike x Jacquemus launches June 28 exclusively on jacquemus.com, and across Nike retail globally beginning summer 2022.
