First Look: Gigi Hadid’s Journal Part II

Gigi Hadid’s Journal Part II is now available for pre-order and is coming to newsstands soon.

Gigi Hadid’s Journal Part II — a creative and social justice endeavor with V Magazine — is now available for pre-order and is coming to newsstands July 15th.

The journal, which started simply as a creative outlet for Hadid, later transformed into a collaborative platform showcasing the long-standing inequalities Black Americans face. DeRay Mckesson of Campaign Zero and art-activist Patrisse Cullors are among a number of powerful voices included in the 32 writings and art pieces.

“I felt strongly that is was [our] responsibility to amplify Black American voices [in light of the] devastating murder of George Floyd,” Hadid writes in the journal.

The 64-page limited-edition hardbound book also brings together a number of other current social issues, such as the coronavirus pandemic. Included pieces were hand-selected by Hadid from a pool of 20,000 submissions sourced all around the world.

Keeping in theme of the journal’s purpose, V Magazine has pledged to donate a percentage of the journal’s proceeds to Black Lives Matter, the NAACP, the ACLU, and Campaign Zero. Hadid has also pledged to match that amount with a personal donation.

Hadid’s fine artistic talent was not misplaced in the making of the journal. The beautiful front cover art was painted by Hadid and includes two special inks. When placed in the sun, the front cover will turn a beautiful bright orange. And when sitting on your coffee table at night, the book will glow in the dark.

Pre-order Hadid’s limited-edition journal here. And wear a mask when heading to newsstands July 15th!
