Former NBA star Rony Seikaly Releases New Single “I’m OK With Yesterday”

The former basketball players’ debut album, “Moonwalk,” will be released in April.

Former basketball player Rony Seikaly has released a new single titled “I’m OK With Yesterday” featuring Vossae. The 11-year NBA veteran has always had a passion for music, and took up music production and DJing seriously upon retiring from the league in 1999.

After six EP’s and years of DJing the Ibiza circuits and Burning Man, Seikaly finally decided to make a full-length studio album. “I’m OK With Yesterday” will be the fifth single released as a lead-up to his debut album, “Moonwalk,” set to drop in full this April under Seikaly’s own record label, STRIDE.

The single fits within Seikaly’s traditional genres of dance house and techno. Filled with deep bass and littered with chimes and synth lines, “I’m OK With Yesterday” manages to be both upbeat and delicate. It features vocals by Vossae, a pop-hybrid duo from Miami.

“Moonwalk” marks a turning point for Seikaly as an artist, as he rids himself of any expectations and just creates the kind of music he would like to listen to. “To me, music is about the story you’re telling,” says Seikaly to VMAN. His hope for the album is to create music that allows listeners to forget their troubles and just be.
